This air compression ignitor demonstrates how the compression of air increases temperature and pressure inside a cylinder. A small piece of cotton is placed in the cylinder. After being rapidly compressed, the cotton ball will ignite and force the cylinder back up. This wonderful demonstration tool vividly demonstrates the principles behind diesel engine operation.
